Lumiguide is committed to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. The SDGs consist of 17 Sustainable Development Goals, with each SDG focusing on the urgent call for action to all countries. It is a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet. In 2015, all of the United Nations Member States adopted the SDGs and are working towards achieving these goals.

Within the SDGs, Lumiguide focuses on goal 11 Sustainable Cities & Communities, and goal 13 Climate Action.

SDG 03: Good Health and Well-Being

The SDGs 3 focus on ensuring healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

LUMIGUIDE provides smart mobility solutions for cities, using technologies allows for easy access for cyclist and pedestrian. Moreover, the optimum route planning for waste management system that we offer able to reduce the carbon emission of the waste pick-up trucks in the city.

Our solutions promotes healthy lifestyle to the resident of the cities and reduce the number of car in the inner city. The solutions that we provide support the subgoal on substantially reduce the number of illnesses from hazardous chemicals and air pollution and contamination. As a company, we also aim to reduce our carbon emission by 49% together with Club van 49.

SDG 07: Affordable and Clean Energy

The SDGs 7 focus on ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.

LUMIGUIDE provides smart mobility solutions for cities. One of our solution, the route information system is using a solar panel as a technologies source for renewable energy. We believe that it is important to incorporate green and modern energy in our solution. By using solar energy, we ensure that the technology that we provices can also be use remotely and applicable in various conditions. Moreover, our pedestrian and cyclist counting technology also relies on long-lasting battery. Our smart waste detection system also can be use off-grid.

In this way, LUMIGUIDE supports the increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix by 2030. Moreover, we are also coorperate with the cities to expand and upgrade the city infrastructure on reneable energy by installing our solutions within the city.

SDG 09: Industry, Innovation and Infrastucture

The SDGs 09 focus on building resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

The bicycle detection system from LUMIGUIDE in the most innovative product in the parking management for bicycle. We are the the first company in the world who is using optical system in combination with smart alogaritm to detect bicycles. Our contribution in syustainable infrastructures is also reflected in our hardware production. We always try to re-use hardware that still can be re-used and fall in the standard quality control that we have. Moreover, our route information system is also the first in the world that is being liked to bicycle parking locations in the city of Utrecht.

We always try to use local knowledge and local crafmanship in every product that we have in order to support the domestic technology development, research and innovation. We always try to use our resource and product in the efficient manner in order to reduce our O2 emission as stated in our CO2 performace-ladder.

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

The SDGs 11 focus on making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

LUMIGUIDE provides smart mobility solutions for cities, using technologies that provide accurate live data on urban mobility. Our solutions also promote active green transportation and facilitate policy making.

Our solutions support municipalities in understanding their residents’ mobility needs. We offer information on for instance the user density in a given public area,  the need for dedicated bicycle parking spaces, etc. This knowledge will help to create better flow and safer traffic. It can also motivate people to use green transportation. Ultimately, we would like to make cities more livable for their residents.

SDG 13: Climate Change

The SDGs 13 focus on combating climate change.

Our commitment to the carbon reduction is reflected in our CO2 performance ladder. We know that it is essential to act in combating climate change and its impact. Increased carbon emission by the transportation sector is one of the big culprits in causing the global warming.

Our company focuses on offering bicycle users and pedestrians an easy mobility experience in urban areas. Moreover, our waste management system will guarantee the most optimum method of waste collection, which is directly correlated with lower transportation emission.
